Fourth Annual Pasadena Festival of Tea
The garden’s most popular event of the year will be held at a later date. Participating tea purveyors will be there both Saturday and Sunday with their teas and tea accessories for sale. There will also be interesting talks by tea specialists, ceramic artist Julie Bagish and Japanese art historian Meher McArthur in the En Gallery.
Held in the Japanese garden on Arlington Drive and in the traditional Japanese teahouse, the festival will delight tea lovers and garden lovers alike.
Major local tea vendors will represent Indian, Chinese, Korean and Japanese tea traditions. Representatives from Denong Tea, Tea Habitat, Hankook Tea, Steep Tea, Ruby Lion and Boon Tea, will share their knowledge of tea through Tea Samplings and Tea Talks. Special custom Storrier Stearns Japanese Garden tea tasting cups will be provided free with registration or ticket purchase upon arrival. They will also be available for sale at the garden. (Members will receive free admission to the festival and can pay $2 per cup at check-in.)

1pm: “The Tea Ceramics and Poetry of Otagaki Rengetsu” with art historian Meher McArthur
The garden's gift shop, Takara-ten, will be open with its collection of beautiful and interesting Japanese decorative items
Asian-inspired clothes by Citron will be for sale by Tai-Ling Wong
Stroll among camellias, azaleas and various other fragrant and sometimes drinkable plants as spring works its magic in the beautiful stroll garden. Originally designed in the late 30s by Kinzuchi Fujii, and recently restored by Takeo Uesugi, FAIA, the garden is on the National Register of Historic Places and is listed as a California Historical Landmark.
- Registration closes the day before at 5pm but we will be accepting walk-ins as long as space allows
- Children 12 and under receive free admission
- The garden is wheelchair accessible but there are stairs to enter the teahouse
